   Governor Lujan Grisham signed - one of first states to protect NIL rights including prospective athletes.

 ###  NMAA Bylaw Pivot

   NMAA Board amended Section VI (Eligibility) - NIL doesn't jeopardize amateur status.

 July 1, 2025

 ###  SB 268 Revenue Sharing Budget

   Millions allocated to UNM/NMSU for NIL landscape - ADs now educate seniors.

 January 6, 2026

 ###  2026 Referenda Update

   NMAA membership concluded voting - stricter "No Marks" enforcement for spring season.

   No institutional "gifts" - informal benefits jeopardize status unless formal NIL contract

   Vice bans: Tobacco/e-cigs/vaping, alcohol, cannabis, gambling/casinos, weapons minors cannot purchase
