 ###  ASAA Board Amends Amateurism Rules

   ASAA Board approved amendments to amateurism policy allowing NIL activities unaffiliated with school, team, ASAA Region, or ASAA.

 What Alaska allows

    NIL allowed if "no school team, school, ASAA Region or ASAA affiliation" in commercial endorsement

   ASAA Board amended amateurism rules in December 2021 to permit NIL activities

   Unlimited NIL earnings under unaffiliated conditions

   Olympic athletes explicitly exempted from amateurism restrictions when competing on official US Olympic Teams

   Scholarships paid directly to institutions of higher learning are exempt from amateurism rules

   Vice product restrictions apply (alcohol, tobacco, cannabis, gambling, adult content)
